Fluoride Reduction in Poultney, VT

Fluoride Reduction in Poultney, VT

Standard carbon filters do not remove fluoride. If you want less fluoride in your water, it takes a specific media, and Poultney, VT Whole House Water Filtration can set that up in your Poultney, VT home.

The two common choices are activated alumina and bone char. Both work best with slow flow and enough contact time, and both perform better when the water pH is slightly acidic. That is why fluoride reduction is easier to do well at a single tap than across a whole house.

For most homeowners we recommend a dedicated under-sink stage for drinking and cooking water. If you want whole house fluoride reduction, we size a larger tank and talk honestly about media life and cost, since the media loses capacity over time and does not change the taste of the water when it is spent.

We also check what else is in your water. High sediment or iron can coat the media, so a pre-filter usually goes first. Your utility's water quality report lists the fluoride level, which helps us size the system.
